More than 16,000 British skiers will fly to Lleida-Alguairenext winter season

The Catalan government, Generalitat de Catalunya, through the public company Aeroports de Catalunya, has reached an agreement with the British touroperator Neilson, one of the most important operators of the Anglo-Saxon market, to start operations at Lleida-AlguaireAirport starting from December 19th. The flights will be operated by the airline of Thomas Cook Group, owner of Neilson.

Neilson has committed itself to transportingaround 16,500 United Kingdom residents to the Pyrenees ski runs, which implies a volumeof 33,000 passengers, taking into account the outward and the return journeys, with six flights per week to Lleida-Alguaire Airportand six back to the UK. This will mean a total of 104,000 overnight stays in the Pyrenees hotels.

After 18 years of operations, Neilson will leave Tolosaairport and Lleida-AlguaireAirport will become its new basis to transport skiers to the Pyrenees.
